The Masks of Democracy by Anna Banasiak

In fear

they hear their steps

see the faces

in the trains

of thoughts

nationalists

they’re knocking at their door

in the streets of the democratic country

in a world

full of falsehood

words overwhelm

today democracy is a mask

of hypocrisy

power is aggression

in a world

full of populism

stairs without exit

everywhere

they’re hiding

before themselves

fearing of

The Masks
